I AM GOING TO BIKE!!!!!! AND I AM GOING TO DIE!!!!! This fish in
the hot sun doesn't have a chance. hahah! Don't worry mom and dad I will
be sure to wear lots of sunscreen and drink lots of water. I am super
excited though. The new area is not too far away from where I am now but
since my new district only has 1 car and 6 missionaries I will be
isolated as to the amount of activites we can do on p-days. I am hoping I
can figure out the bus system. That would be an adventure! I am the
only one out of my current district that is leaving. My companion is
training and everyone else is staying the same. I am sad to be leaving
all of them. I will miss the Elders in my district. I can't even count
how many fish jokes they have come up with. Haha I love it though. Elder
Davis as been here almost as long as I have and we thought he would be
leaving as well but no. He told me the other day "I don't want you to
go!" haha I am so grateful to have a whole bunch of little brother's
that I didn't have before! My new companion is a native spanish speaker.
We came out the same day to the field but she was only in the MTC for 3
or 6 weeks instead of 9. I have had a lot more interaction with her
this transfer since we give rides to the Hermana's. She is great! And
super funny! We are both hoping to stay away from any accidents. Last
week this lady opened her car door and she crashed into it. She doesn't
remember much about the accident. She only remembered flying through the
air and thinking about this video we saw on day one with the voice of
Sister Martin telling us to always wear our helmets. Hahah I have heard
of a few bike crashes. Nothing too bad. Haha I am super excited for the
adventures.
Last week on Thursday we found two less active members. One was
this lady who used to be SUPER involved with the church but due to some
major events in her life she hasn't been back for 10 years. She is the
SWEETEST lady. After meeting her I told my companion "I don't want to
go! I want to stay here and teach her!" Everything happens for a reason
though. It was funny because we knocked on her door and this man
answered. He knew exactly who we were so when we asked for her, he went
back into the kitchen and told her the door was for her. When she came
around the corner she was super surprised. She told us later that he had
said "There are two angels at your door". I really hope she comes back. I
know the things she has been through have been rough but I know that
she could be a blessing to the church once again.
The other member we found I actually didn't get to talk to him but
while we were waiting to see if he showed up we talked to his nephews.
They are so awesome! They kept asking us questions about what we do and
who we are. I really think they would listen to our message. Again as I
walked away I told my companion "I don't want to go!" haha. We found out friday that I was leaving for sure because my
companion will be training a new greenie. I am excited for her. I know
she will love Reseda! It is a great place. I really hope to come back
one day and visit or maybe to finish my mission here. You never know
where you will go during these times here.
It is kind of funny because leaving my greenie area I feel like I
am now a fully trained missionary. I KNOW i have a lot to learn still
but it just is a feeling of excitement that you have officially
graduated from one area and I am going off to be a part of a new one. I
was sad to be walking down this one street for the last time
last night. We were on that street pretty much EVERYDAY!!! We went by a
less active family's house to see if we could teach them but they didn't
answer. We walked past the park and saw these kids that I have seen a
lot playing soccer with these older guys. One of them yelled to us "Hola
Muchachona" it was a guy we saw a lot during our time on this street. I
am sad to be leaving those people. It is a great street. Not the safest
by far! But a great street!
Let see what else. Not much I guess. I can't think of anything
cause I am excited to be getting to my new area. My mind is going 50
different directions. It will be good to be settled in soon! I love you
all!
