Last
week we had exchanges. It was probably the best exchange I have been on
so far. I went with Hermana Prince. She is really great! I learned SO
much from her! It was awesome. I have to admit I was not excited at
first. I like exchanges but I don't like them at the same time. I was a
little worried that I would not be able to keep up with her. She is
super energetic and happy all the time! Hermana Prince has been our for
awhile but I felt like we were on the same page for everything. When we
had language study she learned something that she had been saying wrong
the whole time. I SOMETIMES feel that I don't have a lot to teach or
offer my companions. I am learning so much but then don't teach them
anything. It is only SOMETIMES. Hermana Prince just helped me see that
being out as long as she is you still can find something to learn.
When my companion and I reunited I was informed that an
investigator I had been teaching since day one of being here was moving.
She lives in an apartment complex and where she has had some
difficulties with some neighbors. Apparently on Monday night these
people tried to break into her home. On Tuesday when my companion went
over she was packing. Luckily she said that she would be around for our
Thursday appointment. We have taught every tuesday and thursday for 5
months! When we went by Thursday she had moved already! I was super sad!
Sad because I didn't get to say goodbye but also because she had just
come to church for the first time! AHHHH!!!!! And on top of that my
companion didn't get a number or an address of where she was moving. She
is gone, gone like the wind! The only number we had for her was her
home number. I tried getting a hold of her through her daughter but it
sounds like she went one place, her daughter another and the kids
somewhere else. Can you tell I haven't got over it yet? I hope she gets
the message to call me but I am not sure...
Today we are having a zone activity so my email will be super
short. I did want to say that Heavenly Father works in mysterious ways. I
wrote the email last week about talents and that very day i got a
letter in the mail telling me all my talents. It was a very quick answer
to my prayers. I love those little reminders that Heavenly Father knows
us more then we think we do.
One cool think that happened this week, my companion and I had 30
minutes to knock doors before a dinner appointment. we knocked two. At
the second door we found this woman who used to take missionary
discussions with her nanny when she was younger. I was super surprised
how quickly we were able to find someone in the short period of time.
When you are doing the Lord's work he can work miracles. Sadly she
doesn't live in our area because she was working at the home we knocked
as a nurse. I told President today in my email that we are finding.
Giving the teaching and baptizing to the other missionaries. Maybe one
day we will switch over to the others later. I like knocking doors. You
really never know what you will find behind them. Haha I love you all I
have to run.
