Wedding Bells

Hello!
Well I will forgo the pictures this week and tell you a little bit about what has been going on these last few weeks. To be honest not much. The work has been really slow. We have had a few miracles here and there but other then that the most exciting things were the circus and dia de los muertos fest. This last Saturday we had a GRAND miracle happen. On Thursday we texted one of our recent converts that we haven't seen in awhile. We really need to talk to him about getting him in the ward he wants to be in. He has been going to different wards here and there with his girlfriend which is good but he needs to be staying in one place for a few different reasons. Mainly he needs to get the priesthood. We asked him when we could see him and he replied "I don't know. My schedule is really busy and my parents are making plans for Saturday". We have been teaching his parents for awhile but they informed us they... well they just didn't need the church because they were already grown ups and didn't need to live by the same principles as kids do. That is how we took their dropping us anyway. It was really sad because I think the Mom is really ready to be baptized but they are not married and had made a promise to get married in the Catholic church. It sounded like they were going to be going the way of the Catholics and not listen to us anymore unless we wanted to stop by. We hadn't gone over there in a few weeks to give them a break. We definitely didn't feel like we wanted to drop them though... not yet anyway. So when our recent convert texted us and told us they were making plans we just worked out a different day we could go over.
Later on thursday night we had a missed call from Hermana Zepeda. She is serving in the English ward but was my companion before. We didn't end up talking to her until Friday morning but she told us that this couple was getting married! We were a little sad because we thought they had been planning this since they told us they were going to get married in the Catholic church and didn't tell us. Hermana Zepeda found out from the girlfriend's mom or our recent convert who just happens to be living in the ward that Hermana Zepeda is serving in. Small World Eh? Anyway we decided to swing this families house on Friday night and just say congratulations... Well also we had to tell them that we knew. We found out that they were not getting married in the Catholic church.. not yet anyway but that they were getting married in a little office. Phewf! There is still hope they will accept the gospel!
On Saturday we passed by at night and took them a little treat. They were so excited to see us. The dad even pulled out the cords for us to see the pictures from the small wedding on the tv! We are hoping we can continue to teach them. I will keep you posted. It is just amazing to me how all we needed to do was find a way to have them be married and just after we did everything we could do Heavenly Father came to the rescue!
In other news we had this investigator that usually works Sundays but she was with us Friday night and she told us that if she didn't have to work she would come with us. We told her we would pray that she didn't have to work! The next day she texted us to tell us she didn't have to work Sunday! We were so excited. She came and I am really excited about her. She has a lot of friends that she has met randomly in the church already. I am really hoping we can continue to teach her.
In the scriptures I have been reading the story of Paul. I am sad to say I have not read the bible as much as I would have liked. I feel like I am reading the story of paul for the first time. It is amazing all the miracles that happen in the book of Acts. I think I have read 3 different times about Peter being captured and put into prision only to be released by an angel or other form of God working miracles. I am really enjoying it!
I think that is it for this week. I love you all! I hope you have a great week!
