One More Week (give or take a few days)!

HOLA!
I can't believe I only have about one week left in the MTC. Crazy! Time really has flown by! I am really excited to get to the field. I have really enjoyed the MTC and have learned a lot, including the Spanish language and few words in German (thanks to Sister T.)

I got even more excited after last night. We had a fireside and the Brother who spoke works along side the apostles who assign mission calls. He told us the process which I had heard before but he really focused on how individually we are assigned. For example he told a story of a girl who was in his ward who got called to serve in...i think Poland... Anyway she was in the singles ward so he didn't hear much about her going on a mission until she was getting ready to leave. At the same time he had headed up to Idaho to visit a small town where he had family. While he was there he went to a resturant and his waiter was a girl who also got called to go to Poland. Two different sister's going to the same mission and he just happened to know both of them. And not only meet both of them seperately but then both of them coming to the MTC on the same day and then these two sisters becoming companions. Isn't that crazy? Small world.

As he spoke he spoke about God knowing us each individually. He knows who I will need to teach and who my companions will be. He knows my strengths and weaknesses. He knows why he needs me on a mission now and not when I was 21. He knows every person we come across everyday. I will have to say I love those moments when you learn something from those people who you will never meet but over hear a conversation about something that teaches or reminds you to be better.
Along the same theme, yesterday Brother S. (who is in the branch presidency) sat down and gave us some departure advice. He mentioned something that I hadn't thought about yet. He talked about our Mission Presidents and how he has already been praying for me, already been trying to figure out where the Lord needs me first and who with. This really hadn't hit me at all but it is true. I will be there in a week so he is probably making plans and praying about where I will need to be first and WITHOUT even meeting me yet. Isn't that awesome! The Lord really does know who we are. We really are children of God. He really is looking out for us individually. Every trial and challenge we face is planned. Every blessing and gift is planned. This is such a comfort to have this knowledge. Especially in times when I forget. I am truly grateful for the things I have learned thus far. I really can't wait to get to California and find those people that are ready. I am getting off the plane running!

I will enjoy my last week here though. I have had the best teachers and the best district in the MTC. I have learned A LOT about myself and about the gospel! I am really so grateful for this opportunity to go and serve! Thank you for your love and support!

Love,
