Merry Christmas! Dec 24, 2012

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!! I will be talking to you tomorrow but I can give you a few updates! First and for most we had a baptism yesterday! It was wonderful! Her name is Elvia. We found her in September when she showed up to church with her friend who used to live in Utah and was taking the missionary discussions there. The friend we haven't seen for a really long time but Elvia taught ever since then. Turns out she lives with her Aunt who we met this last weekend and the Aunt has two sisters who are members! Now we have a new set of people to teach in that house! We are excited! The baptism was really last minute. Elvia has been to church several times but whenever we asked her about getting baptized on the 23rd we were never really sure if it was a for sure yes. This week we saw her and she started acting as if this Sunday she was going to get baptized. She was more worried about the water being cold then anything else. We had a baptism she came with us to a few weeks ago and the water was freezing! We told her the water would be warm and not to worry. The other thing was we had to make sure she had work off and she found out at 8pm Saturday night! So we planned really fast and figure the rest out at church. When it came time to fill up the font all that was coming out was cold water. We frantically started heating water in the kitchen but while we were waiting for a member to bring big pots we ran into a member in the English ward. Some how... I don't even remember what I said but some how the words about the water being cold came out. The member said "oh that must mean the pilot light is out" and turns out he was the member who knew how to fix it. He fixed it immediately and in the end the water was perfectly warm! We were so grateful for that little miracle! Heavenly Father totally answers prayers! It was a perfect kick off to the Christmas season! Last night we went Caroling again! We had a few people say they didn't have time for us and one guy didn't say anything just shut the door. I can't believe how many scrooges there are in the World! I thought they had all gone away a long time ago! We did meet some cool people. Hopefully we have a few new investigators! It makes me not want to leave the area! I could stay here forever! I am really excited to see what happens with them. I did get some good news this week from the Arletta ward! Awhile ago Hermana P and I were with a member visiting an investigator. The member was hungry and wanted to grab a taco from this food truck. I think I might have been on the phone at the time so I was slowly walking behind them. For some reason I was standing on the corner just a few feet away from them. One of the trucks customers and his family had just finished buying their food and started walking towards me. The guy said hello to me and looked at me as if he had seen missionaries before. It was obviously the Spirit but I felt like I should start talking to him. So I did. They were in the process of moving and we gave them our phone number. They ended up moving to the Arletta ward where one of my good mission friends is right now. Apparently they are a really solid family! He thinks they could get baptized next month! I am super excited for them! I was also really grateful I followed the spirit and talked to them. The daughter who is 10 and fluent in both English and Spanish kept laughing at me for not being able to say the right words but I just thought it was funny. They don't remember that though. I will keep you posted! They are going on my list of miracles! I will talk to you tomorrow! I love you all so much! I hope you have a very Merry Christmas! We are off to go play soccer! And the best part is it is RAINING!!!! I have always wanted to play soccer in the rain! I can cross it off my list of things to do! Merry Christmas!
