Last day of 2012!

I can't believe this year is already over. I remember being in the MTC when it started and now look where I am. In California! It is incredible how quickly things change. This past week I was able to have a interview with my mission president.  It was such a good interview! I really needed it. It is interesting because I am changing but I would not be able to describe how I have changed. At one point in my interview he explained the changes he has seen in me. It was really refreshing to hear. I do love my mission president!
This week was rather slow with Christmas and all. On Christmas we went caroling in this HUGE apartment complex where a lot of Spanish speakers live. I would never want to be there alone. I was really grateful to have the Elders with us. They always make a great protection in scary places at night. Not that we are in those kinds of situations a lot but you know... just in case... We did see some scary fight while we were there. Remind me to tell you when I get back home. I don't know what ended up happening but I hope everything ended okay.
During the day we went over to the Ramierz home to call our families. They are such a good family! Hermano Ramierz was one of the first people I met in the mission field. He is great! I have been able to be around him for a long time. When I was in Reseda 4th we would go to the Stake center for church so I would see him all the time. Now I am serving in his home ward and we go eat at his home every other Sunday. In fact there daughter went on a mission but had to come home for health reasons but while she was in the MTC she was in the same district as my current companion so they are really good friends!
Oh last week at soccer was SO incredible! This investigator family that the Elders are teaching brought a tone of jersey's for us to wear. I felt professional! It wasn't raining but it was really muddy and we got pretty dirty. My kind of soccer for sure! Soccer as been such a stress reliever! I look forward to it every week. Depending on what happens today could be one of my last times in the zone! I will know next week what is happening.
Also this week we set a baptismal date with Efren! I am so happy! He is friends with a member and we met him one night. He hasn't been able to come to church cause he has to work pretty much every Sunday but we are praying for a miracle! We are doing secret Santa Claus with him and the member this week and I decide I was going to give him one of my name tags. He really wants one so I thought I would give him that. It something small but I know it will mean a lot to him. I have only given my name tag to one other person. I don't know why investigators like it so much but it has some sentimental value or something.
Tonight for New Years we are going over to another families house to eat. There are so many great members in this ward!
Speaking of New Years... I need to make some new years resolutions but I realized I don't know really what to work on. I feel like I am working on so many things. I know in the past I have set goals like "I will exercise for 20 minutes everyday" or "I am going to eat less sweets" or I don't know just all those goals we make for ourselves but never start them. I was thinking today or this week they are actually not important. What is important is coming closer to Christ. So For news years I am going to ask myself this question. "What habits do I have that I have been wanting to break for so long that is keeping me from progressing?" What ever I can think of will be what I work on. But it can't just stop there. I have to make plans of how I am going to achieve that. I really excited! It is something I have been studying in Chapter 8 of Preach My gospel. I have never been a goal oriented person but I am trying to develop those skills now on the mission.
Well I better go! We have to share the computers today since the libraries are closed! Love you all!
